Centennial Celebration
The occasion of this centennial celebration of the founding of our parish is a moment for us to pause with gratitude to God for his many blessings to us, and gratitude to the people of this magnificent parish for their many efforts and dedication. It’s a great opportunity to sit back and reflect on the people who came before us, on all the work that has been done for the church, and the huge legacy of the families who have made it all possible by their generous support throughout the decades. All of that brings us to where we are now, to recognize that we are not the first ones to have a wonderful experience in this beautiful community. In reality, we have received something special that has been handed on for many years, and this faith continues to grow and blossom in preparation for the faithful members who will follow us.
Centennial Anniversary Prayer
O God our loving Father, who planted the seeds of faith in our parish 100 years ago, we thank you with great joy for the many blessings and graces you have given us!
God, we thank you for the witness and work of generations past, whose faith and love over 100 years has formed the foundation of our beloved parish community. We praise you for the ways you have nourished and fed us with your Word and Sacrament, led by the example of our blessed mother, Our Lady of Lourdes. We thank you for all those who have provided gifts of time, talent, and treasure in support of our parish in years past.
Grant us the grace and strength to continue to nurture the faith in our present time and to pass it on to the coming generations. May our parish remain a place where all are welcome, a community of hospitality to the strangers in our midst. May we continue to serve as Christ’s hands and feet through service, outreach, and advocacy throughout the wider Price community. And may our parish continue to flourish and to grow as we seek to become stronger disciples of Jesus.
We ask our patroness, Our Lady of Lourdes, to keep us under her special protection, so that we may continue to give God glory for many years to come. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Story of Lourdes
HISTORY OF THE CHURCH AND RELIGIOUS PRACTICES
In 1918 Fr. Giovannoni established Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Price, Utah. The present church was completed on June 20, 1923. The French title comes from the support of the French and French Basques in the area. Notre Dame Grammar School was opened in 1927-1928 and was staffed by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. The high school was added in 1956 under the leadership of Father John LaBranche. The School was closed in 1999.
The parish reflects a mix of many ethnic groups. French, Hispanic, Italian, and Slovenian people make up the majority of the population. The Catholic community of Price is a tight-knit group. They are warm enduring people. They are generous with their time and their lives and they are committed to their Catholic faith. Over the years they have been served by many likewise generous Priests, Deacons, Daughters of Charity, and lay persons. Now we have Father Arokia Dass David who serves Notre Dame, Mission San Rafael, Good Shepherd, and St. Michael the Archangel.
Notre Dame de Lourdes Church is the center of the Catholic community of Price. It is their place to hear the Word of God and to receive the body and blood of Christ. It is much more in that, from this “center of faith”, parishioners take out to the greater Price community the example and grace of the Eucharist they have received.
