Project Rachel
Lectors proclaim the readings during Masses in addition to the Prayers of the Faithful and weekly announcements. Lectors are responsible for submitting schedule requests as they are called for each quarter.
Eucharistic Ministers
The Eucharistic Ministers assist in distributing Holy Eucharist during Masses. They also prepare the vessels, linens, bread and wine before Mass as well as cleaning the vessels after Mass. They are responsible for submitting schedule requests as they are called for each quarter.
Altar Servers
Altar servers have received First Holy Communion and must be in the third grade or higher. Training is offered throughout the year. Youths and adults serve.
Ushers/Greeters
Multiple Ushers or Greeters welcome parish guests and members, hand out the bulletins, help with special requests and take up the offertory collections. They will also straighten out pews to prepare for the next Mass.
Catechists
Catechists teach Children’s Church (Pre-K), Religious Education classes (K-6th grade), First Communion/Reconciliation classes and Confirmation classes to the parish youth. Each Catechist must be current on Safe Environment Training and submit to a background check.
Offertory Counters
Teams of volunteers alternate assigned weeks and meet in the parish office to count, record and reconcile each weekend’s offertory, special collections and miscellaneous contributions.
Ministry to Sick and Homebound
Volunteers visit shut-ins and other facility-bound parishioners to provide fellowship, scripture and Communion. Visitations can be arranged through the parish office.
